Our Morning So Far

 This is our morning so far. It has been sleeting and freezing 🥶 crystals all night. 

It did this all night and Dakota got called out onto some calls. This poor mom has been worried. 

We have groceries,  heat and power. Some people don't have that. 

Our inclement weather is different. We don't get snow.  We get freezing rain or sleet and then there is what is called black ice. You can drive on snow but you can't drive on ice. My sons father in law has been very busy pulling people out of ditches trying to drive on this stuff. 

I'm glad we were prepared. 

Wether like this is why you don't want to make fun of people for wanting to be prepared. Got my milk and bread a few days ago. 😋  The last thing you want is to be stranded at home with no groceries.  Got to feed your family and be prepared. Better to be safe than sorry. 😝😒😛

Dear hubby had to go to his mommas house and check on the pipes to make sure they weren't froze. 

3:30pm and it's coming down hard. It has been a few years since we have had a good winter. I froze my tooshie off getting the snow and ice away from the bottom of the back door so we could get it open. 

This is the first time I have ever had very severe dry skin. It is awful. Here in the south we are use to some kind of humidity or moisture in the air even in the winter.  But this year my skin has been so dry and cracked. I've tried several lotions and nothing has worked until I started using Baby Oil. So much better. And let's not even talk about hair 🙄.  

We crank the vehicles once a day and let them run for a bit because it is so frozen outside. Yes,  Elsa, the cold 🥶 bothers me. 

Cowboys 🤠 gotta go out and take care of dogs 🐕

I pulled out some rolls to defrost and rise that I flash froze a month ago and we're gonna have those with spaghetti bake. A good way to utilize left overs is to repurpose  them. Get creative. Left over spaghetti 🍝? Spread out into a casserole dish,  spread mozzarella cheese 🧀on top and bake. Wholah 

I'm trying to get a fire 🔥 going to get these guys warmed when they come in from doing farm 🚜 chores.  

Every body is inside now and toasty. Just  gonna enjoy our night and stay warm and cozy. 

I know there are people without power right now and electrical workers are out there doing their best. Please be patient with them and pray for them. Also, we pray for the ones that are without power. 🙏. Check on your neighbors.  

Happy Valentine's Day

 Today has just been  a lazy day. We got some inclement weather and no one is going anywhere.  Roads are slick and iced over. My sons father in law had already gotten 5 vehicles out of ditches by 11 am. 

Church services were cancelled. We were just lazy today and enjoying the fireplace.

Dear hubby cooked supper tonight so I have just been spoiled. 

 

Relaxing Saturday

 I woke up when I wanted to this morning.  Yep, I wanted to be lazy today. Till about 9:30 am when son called and wanted to know could the girls come just for a while  while he works on the fence in Nanny's pasture.  So, of course I said yes. He took them to eat breakfast while I hopped in shower and got ready and I ate breakfast too. 

I was still in the shower 🚿 when they arrived and of course they high tailed it in there with me. I have not had privacy since the boys were older and didn't need to come in the bath room with me anymore. But now I have little tiny human beings that want me all the time,  so there's that. While I was in the shower 🚿 dear son did this for me 

He knows how much I love my fireplace and since it was 20 something degrees outside....... bless him.  He was cold too. 🥶

One of these days this old woman will learn how to shave without cutting myself. 

I let the girls just do whatever they wanted to do today. So they spent 2 hrs just coloring and drawing. 

We took a break for some lunch and then it was time for nap and they slept 2 1/2 hrs. I slept 2 hrs. I needed it since I didn't sleep good last night. 

Dakota got done working on the fence and came and picked them up and took them home to eat supper. 

Nanny told Dakota a long time ago that he could utilize her two pastures for cows. And that is what he is doing now. Some of the fence just needed mending and some brush pulled back off of it. 

We have always wanted to have a few cows and raise them for our beef. So I guess we are well on our way to doing that. Dakota does the raising and we go in half and have it butchered. This is right up his alley. The girls love to see the babies too. Right now his cow is in a friend's pasture. When everything gets set up and he moves his cow we will show you. 

I tidied up everything and threw a whole chicken in the pressure cooker. 30 minutes later, I got it out,  deboned it, shredded it and made my supper. Dallas had him a Buffalo chicken wrap. 🐔 

Hey,  don't mind the cheese balls with the healthy wrap. It's all about balance people. All about balance. I'm going to enjoy the rest of my night eating my wrap by the fireplace and retire to my bedroom later.  Good night all. 

Friday

 Today was a good day. I got up at 5:30 am trying not to wake Atleigh.  She got more sleep than I did. Long legged Princess kept me awake. Oh well. 

Dakota arrived with Caroline around 6:30 am. Atleigh woke up at the same time.  We had some coffee ☕ and milk 🥛 while we woke up and watched some Sheriff Cali.  

Then they got hungry really early.  

We got baths and shower and got dressed.  Well, Atleigh deemed it pj day so I let her put her pjs back on and I had comfy pants and no makeup and messy hair. 😝

We did our stretches and Atleigh wanted to do school as usual. She loves it. 

Not alot happened today for the fact I was so tired, I was just trying to make it to naptime.

After nap,  Caroline woke up first and she climbed on the bed and loved on me. 

It's hard to get a smile out of this girl.  She's either scowling or pouting. I'll take what I can get. 🤨🙄🥴😳😛😒🙃😝😍

Dakota got off work and came and picked them up. 

I had to run to town and get my truck fueled up and pick up my prescription early because next week is suppose to be colder than this week and Jossie works some pretty long hrs so I figured I better do it so I don't have to get out with them. 

Got home and chilled out by the fireplace catching up on some vlogs. 

Time For Myself

 This morning I got up and had my coffee ☕,  devotions and prayer 🙏time. 

I was moving slow so I got a late start. I finally got moving although it was pouring rain outside and freezing. 

I had to have my joint therapy which is tanning bed. It helps relieve my joints a little. 

When your getting your tan on and Elvis is singing Jail House Rock and you just kind of wanna rock and you remember you have to be still so you tone it down to Blue Hawaii and you are magically transported to sand and water. 😎🏄‍♀️🌴🍹🏖🌊I always enjoy my therapy sessions. 😌

I left there and went a got some staple grocery items because we are expecting somemore inclement weather. We have mostly got rain but I don't want to be caught off guard. You do not want to be caught in a house with toddlers with no juice or milk. Trust me. 

I grabbed me some lunch through the drive thru. Alot of our fast food places are still drive thru only. Which doesn't make sense when restaurants are seating people in the dining room. 🤔

I get home and put groceries away real quick and the girls got here. They were ready for nap 😴.  

I love these snuggles 

 

Woke up, had snacks,  coffee ☕ and juice. 

Atleigh wanted to do a little school and Caroline just wanted to watch Paw Patrol.

Whatever they watch, I try to make sure it's educational.  

Tonight we're gonna have pizza for supper. The girls were going to spend the night with me but daddy wants to spend time with them because he will be on call next week and mommy has to work some long hours. I'm just glad I'm able to be here when they need me. 

We got to making our pizzas. 

While the pizzas were baking,  I cleaned the kitchen. Remember to use your time wisely. ⏲️

We ate supper. I forgot to take some pics of our finished pizza 🍕because we were too hungry. After supper we played dolls a little. I picked them up some little doll furniture at the Dollar Tree and they love them. 

When it was time to go, Atleigh wanted to stay here but Caroline wanted to go with daddy 👨.  That's OK because sometimes they need some one on one time too. 

So Atleigh and I watched a movie and ate popcorn 🍿in the Princess 👸 bed 🛌

I guess we are going to enjoy our time together.  Y'all have a good night.  

Wednesday Happenings

 I got to sleep in this morning a little. I got up at 6:30am. It beats 5:30 am. Had my coffee and devotion time before the girls got here. When they got here around 7:30 they were ready for breakfast. 

We had breakfast and and got ready for the day. You may be cool, but you'll never be, standing on a stool on your tippie toes in a tutu brushing your teeth singing , YIPPIE YI YO KIYAY, YEEHAW.......COOL.  😎😎😎

These girls love to wear princess dresses everyday. 

Then we did a little school 🏫

I made some activity binders for the girls. A little velcro,  sheet protectors and dry erase markers go a long way.

Had lunch and then we were tired so that means nap time. 😴

Caroline woke up from nap first so we got up and went into the living room and let Atleigh sleep as long as she wanted. So me and Caroline had some snuggle time. 

Atleigh woke up and wanted to do some more school. She loves to do school. She loves paper work.  Caroline is just Willie nillie play type. 😛 

I gave them something to do so I could get our supper ready. We ate supper and mommy came to get them and she ate with us.  

After they left, I got busy speed cleaning and getting prepared for the next day. 

I vacuumed and mopped kitchen floor,  emptied dishwasher, loaded dishwasher, wiped down counters and layed out ingredients for tomorrow night's supper which is going to be homemade pizza with some of the sausage Dear hubby processed himself.  

Then I got the living room picked up and school stuff prepared for tomorrow. You know, some days I have my crap together and some days I don't.  🙃 Moms, don't beat yourself up if you don't. Things will come together. Eventually.  

Tomorrow will be a different schedule. They will be here later tomorrow because she has to work 16 hr night shift tomorrow night so they will be spending the night. That means I will have a different routine tomorrow. I've got to run some errands in the morning and pick up some staple items because we are expecting some inclement weather. Then they will be here around their lunch time. See, some days you just have to rearrange timing and circumstances.  It's doable.  Don't sweat it Moms.  

Herbs are doing great again. 

Well, I'm enjoying my me time now. So I will sign off til tomorrow. 

Tuesday

 Not alot of excitement today.  Just me and the girls making Valentine's Day treats. We got Poppie a box fixed up and they made him some cards. We got it to the post office and it is on its way. 😇 

Then they made Mommy 👩 Daddy 🧔 and Unkie Dallas 👨 some treats and cards as well. 

We took a nap and we just played the rest of the day til mommy came and picked them up.  I thought they were going to spend the night because they had called her right after she got off work and was almost here and wanted to know if she could come back and transport a patient to Nashville. Thankfully a nurse went in her place. It was no problem for them to spend the night, it's just that she already has to work two nights this week and want get to see them much. I'm beginning to wonder if later on this career is going to do her in or what. Only time will tell I guess. 

Well, it is my Me Time. So off I go until in the morning.
