Man, some of these things are so cute, small and effecient, that I may get some for our home or for when we travel on work trips. They are awesome. But what is also awesome is deals on air fryers for dorm rooms. I love cooking meals in our air fryer when we travel. You will feel good knowing that they can make nutritious meals for themselves in no time and not have to spend money eating out all the time. Oh, and I almost forgot, deals on instant pots too. I will spend the next few days and weeks trying to see what all other deals and sales I can find for y'all. I hope this post, list and links help you save money on the budget for your kids of all ages.

Here is a little extra: if you are a college kid or your kid is going to be off to college and will be doing their own cooking. I have a playlist of videos on our YouTube channel where I am cooking in a hotel with nothing but an air fryer, instant pot, and the rooms microwave. It might help teach them how to cook some meals for themselves and become more independent instead of eating out all the time. There are also a couple of videos where I do my meal planning for small space cooking and even take you along on a grocery haul and teach how to shop economically. These are all life skills these kids  need to learn how to do. Catch the whole playlist here

I will see you in the next post, hopefully with more savings, sales and deals.

Meal Planning and Grocery Haul

In this video, I start a new week with planning my meals and I show you my strategy for how I meal plan for the week. I even do one better than that. I take you with me on my grocery haul and teach you how I compare prices and shop economically. Teach your kids to meal plan and shop the sales. College kids, this is good for dorm room cooking and storing food. It is important to learn these life skills for when you get your own home and family, or you just move away from home and you are on your own.

After you watch the video, check out my whole playlist on Meal Planning and Shopping the Sales. Sure does save money on the groceries.

Home Hack

Neat little trick. Instead of throwing away tons of plastic bags, get some uses out of them. I fold them like little footballs( the kind we use to play paper football with in school when the teacher wasn't looking lol), then store them in a container ( I use wipe containers since I have plenty), and use them in small trash can liners, in my truck for garbage, dirty diapers on the go, soiled clothes, even barf bags in a pinch.

Saving Seeds

You can leave some green beans on the vine and okra pods on the stalks and let them dry out. Cut off later and open up and save the seeds for next year. You will have a good start for your next year's crop.

A Challenge

I challenged people on my 4D Farms Facebook page to grow something in a bucket or container. Some people sent me pics of their plants. I asked permission from each person to post their pic's. They are very proud of their small gardens. It doesn't take much but little by little you can cut back on groceries. If you missed this year's opportunity, please make plans for next year. πŸ…πŸ†πŸ₯”πŸ₯•πŸŒ½πŸŒΆπŸ«‘πŸ₯’πŸ₯¬πŸ₯¦

More New Videos

We have some new videos on our channel you might want to check out. I have alot more coming. Just hang in there with me.

There is Remaking A Kids Outdoor Playhouse, Giving You Some Encouragement To Make It Through The Rest Of Your Garden Season,  How I Cook With My Frozen Produce From The Garden and Instant Pot Lasagna. πŸ˜€

I Am Still Here

Just letting everyone know, we are still here. We are in the throws of canning season and wrapping up our garden season. The corn, Zucchini and squash are done. We had an excellent harvest with those.  Okra is still coming strong and we are getting a lot. We have been enjoying some fried and granddaughters are loving the ones I pickled. πŸ˜‹.  We went ahead and harvested the onions. They didn't get very big but next year I will plant them in a row or raised bed by themselves.  The okra stalks smothered them out a bit and over shadowed them. I am harvesting pumpkins and butternut squash and I have a new video on the butternut squash.

We are working on the pumpkins now and will have a video soon.

The green beans are still going strong.

We are harvesting some tomatoes and I will add a new video to our playlist soon too.

Also some peppers and how we preserve them.

School has also started and those busy mornings and evenings are chaotic. Parents have to be on their way or already at work before the school opens for drop off, so I help get the oldest to school and the youngest stays with me since she is PreK. I help pick her up in the afternoons and have fun and treats before they have to go home. I help with homework also. This is not my first rodeo. Anything I can do to help. That's just what grandparents do.

The youngest and I will do some kind of job first to start our day right after we leave the school drop off line. It can be canning something, cooking or baking something or cleaning something.  Then we will do school. One morning I let her make her Poppie some pecan muffins all by herself and I tell you what, we devoured them. She did a great job.

I have enjoyed this summer with our grandchildren and teaching them all I could. Why school has to start so early around here I don't know but it messes my time up with them. When I was in school we didn't start until September and still got out in May. Oh well.

The oldest ones school teacher has an app where parents and grandparents can sign up to receive notifications of progress, grades, upcoming events, what they are learning and just what they are doing in the classroom.

She has made some little friends.

We have had some unexpected and unusual storms come through the last month and our oldest son has not had much rest or got to spend alot of time with his family. We have pop up showers and thunderstorms out of no where. One minute the sun is shining and we get in the pool and bam, clouds come and then thunder and lightning. We have to get out and come in. Phooey.

Cows are going strong. We have 3 confirmed pregnant and the momma and baby are doing fine now. The guys are putting up more fencing on the property to expand their grazing.

I hope this catches everyone up and let you know I'm still here, it's just been busy the past month. I will keep hanging in there until things slow down.
