My Newest Adventure

Well, work called us to LA.

Yep, dear hubby still has to work, but this time it's in Louisiana.  I have never been but I am now.

Our dandy handy man is overseeing things at home along with our son and neighbor.

The first day I had a chance, I got out to do a little look see on the grounds where we are staying. We are staying at a Plantation. It has been a little slow here since 2020 hit just like everything else. They started back up and have hosted weddings and even a veteran funeral the week before we got here. They said the veteran was a decorated war veteran in the USMC. There were Marines galore here and law enforement along with tons of family and friends. They said it was a good thing we weren't here because there was no parking and you couldn't get out once you got in. There has been two weedings here since we got here. I got out and walked the grounds and just made a few funny photos too.

This is our cottage with my own personal welcome guests. They were renovating the cottages when Covid hit and had to put a hault on things. They along with others all over the US is having trouble finding people who want to work. They have had several workers come and stay for months of work on the rail road out here. When they all cleared out, they somewhat cleaned, but not like I clean, like deep clean. So......I spent the first week DEEP CLEANING like I clean. I made it like home away from home as much as possible. My dear sweetheart loves it when I do that. He said he's getting use to all this. All these years of traveling by himself and just making do. Now, it's my turn to spoil him.
Our greeters roam the grounds freely and they are well taken care of. A flock was born before we got here. This one dude is so handsome. He hangs out more at our cottage than any of the others. I think he has a crush on me. He calls out for me alot to come out of the cottage. lol. He comes up on the porch and sometimes peeks in the window. He has here lately brought some of his family. lol.

Yep I have him eating out of my hands, literally.

We've had a few storms here that I knew was going to head toward home. And we were correct, the next day, a storm hit home and Dakota was called out on some calls from the storm of power outages.

I keep the same thing going just as I would as if I were home. I meal plan and enjoy my housekeeping in our little cottage.

Here is just a few family updates:

We have finally found the piece of  granite that we like to have our counter tops cut out of. That has been our hold up this whole time. Dear hubby has a good eye and he was not satisfies until he found "the one".  It will take two weeks from cut to final installation. Then we can move on to the next stage which will be upper cabinets and back splash. I don't have an updated picture of our rock wall on our island.

Our girsl, well, future daughter in laws, have passed their board exams except Jordan has her nation wide board exam to pass and she is a nervous wreck. Brylee passed her phylembotomy exam and is certified now. She will use this in her vet tech program next. However, she can always use this as back up in any medical field if she travels with Dallas when he gets permanently stationed somewhere when he goes active. These are things they have been talking over and planning. Dallas does not have much longer. It will be me and Brylee going to his next graduation.  Dad can only choose when he takes off work again and Dallas wants him there for our big 4th of July event we have every year. We are going to turn it into a home coming for Dallas too. He gets his phone on weekends which makes it much more pleasurable even though he still is homesick. He has been gone since February.   He has had a few rough weeks with tests everyday. It has been mentally exhausting but this momma has been praying everyday. He will be fine

Speaking of praying, our little Atleigh will be starting Kindergarten in August.  Where has the time gone? Seems like yesterday I was driving them home from the hospital.  They have got her all registered. I can't even begin to explain how my heart feels about this.

Well, I have laundry I need to go check on. I have a new video up on our channel.

A Wonderful Mothers Day

The day after I took the girls out for supper and shopping, their daddy and Jordan came to pick them up and took them to the zoo for the day. They had such a wonderful time.

They came back that night and stayed with me. We watched more movies and ate popcorn. And we had to let Anna and Elsa have a tea party.

The next morning we got up and got ready for church which was Mothers Day. They are always doing what Gmaw is doing.

Dakota and Jordan showed up at church with me. We came back here after church and grilled and just played. Jordan's mom came and spent the day with us too. Her dad was not feeling well. I forgot to get pics of her momma and some of them.

It was time for them to go to their moms and everyone left.

The next day, I grabbed my momma and spent the day with her for Mothers Day. We went to lunch and thrifting. I forgot to get pics.

The day after that, I had to start cleaning and working outside the house. So many storms had knocked so many of my things down and we just had to clean up the yard.

I have a bone to pick with Mother Nature. She messed with the wrong house. It had wound up in a gulley behind our house and I had to strap it and drag it back up a hill and put it back together. Alot of things in our play area was strowed every where. Got all of it put back together and set up. Dear hubby was Bush hogging. It took him two or three days to do our property. We had to clean up flower beds and tie up some of our rose bushes that the wind had gotten a hold of. The little birds nest that me and the girls were keeping an eye on, now has little baby birds. They hatched two days after the girls left.

Me and the girls dead headed some flowers two years ago and saved the seeds, I scattered them into some flower beds and we will see what happens.

I took one day and wanted to have a girls day out with my sons sweethearts.  We had a blast. We went and had our nails done and went to lunch.

I had so much fun spending the day with these two beauties. We have laughed, almost cried, and if our men's ears 👂 were burning 🔥, well it was us. 😁

We had a fun girls day out. This momma is proud to have two young women that complete my boys and I have women I can pray and worship with. No drama. That's a plus. They have both worked hard to accomplish their goals and now they have state exams coming up to which I will be praying very hard for them. They got this. Congratulations to Jordan and Brylee.

We had to return home so Jordan could start preparing for graduation that night. Me and Brylee got some rest and later left to attend Jordans graduation.

Both girls have state exams next week and I will be praying for them.

We had a tragedy in our family and will have to be attending a funeral. One of my husband 2nd cousins ended his life and he was only 20 yrs old. We are so heart broken.

After the funeral, we will be getting ready to begin phase two of our kitchen which will be counter tops, upper cabinets, back splash, and all the crown molding, trim, facings and baseboards. We will have to leave again and stay in a hotel or something. Oh well, that's how renovation goes sometimes.

We have alot coming up in June. We have a grand daughters bday, Dallas graduation from AIT and Father's day. Gonna be busy again and traveling. We will make it. Exhausted, but make it.

Have a blessed day.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to my best friend, mentor and God knows, my counselor. She is one tough cookie and a prayer warrior. She worked hard to take care of us three girls. She put her own needs aside. She did what needed to be done for her family and never looked back. She loves you with a passion. When you hurt, she hurts. She is always there and I am so thankful, even though she loves my dear hubby more than me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Happy Mothers Day to my little buddies other grandmother. This makes my heart happy. "Stay at home Lolly" looks good on you. ❤️

Thank you to my little buddies mother for giving them life so I can have girls to play with and make memories just like this

Happy Mothers Day to my grandmother.  My other best friend. A true Proverbs 31 Woman. No words can describe how much I miss her today. So many childhood memories that I will always cherish.

Happy Mothers Day to every mother out there. May you have a Blessed day.

Today I will be spending the day with my family. I will have pics for another post for another day.

The Reason For MIA

Well, there is a very good reason why I have been MIA, and I'll explain and catch you up, but you better grab a cup of coffee ☕️ or glass of tea 🥃 cause this is a doozy.

We were able to come home for a little while because we are to a pause in renovation. We are getting our rock wall up on our island and we had to reorder our cabinets because they were wanting to deliver them at a time that we were not going to be here andwe knew they would have left them outside and possibly get rained on. Yes, it has happened before to things ordered. Then, we had to meet with our counter too guy and pick out what we wanted. It will take a few weeks to cut the granite slabs we want and then come and install them. So I'm ok right now with a half functional kitchen. I have unboxed as many things as I can thst goes in lower cabinets at this time. I have uploaded a video on our channel for an update on where we are right now and what's going on too in our kitchen. I haven't taken alot of pics through the process but I did in the video. I will try to remember to attach the link at the end of the post to that video. If I forget, our channel is Keeper of the Home at 4D Farms.

We made it back home in time to celebrate Easter. Our girls got to come and spend the day with us after church and we gave them their baskets and goodies and then we hunted eggs and grilled. While the burgers were going, I let them do a craft. Then of course they wanted to spend the night. So we watched a movie and ate popcorn.

The next day, we just wanted to play and of course, we had to make some kind of treats, kitchen renovation or not. 😁

Then, we had to pack again and head out to see our youngest, Dallas, who was graduating from Basic Training with the United States Army. 🇺🇸  Let me tell you, this momma and daddy is extremely proud of him. We grabbed his sweetie and took her with us.  We got to spend two days with him. It's been a long time since we have been on a military base and it brought back so many memories.
We got to have family day first with him. They released our soldiers to us and all he wanted to do was go to our suite we had reserved and eat and rest. Bless him. He didn't want to do anything. He was exhausted. We had to have him back on base at a certain time to be accounted for. The next day was graduation.  They were released to us again and we got to spend another day with him. We went to just a few places and then ate, but still he just wanted to relax and rest. Once again we had to take him back that night. That goodbye was hard again because his AIT training and school is still on the base. He has two months left and we get to see him graduate AIT. 🎓  It is nice to hear him and his girl making their plans for their future. I remember those days and me and my sweetheart know all too well military life. 🪖.  We were in their shoes at this age doing the exact same thing.

Once we got back home, dear hubby wanted to make some deer sausage and it was awesome.

Then we took a day and went and visited my momma and daddy.

You always know when Gmaw has been around. 🥰

Just some girls playing horses 🐎

They love their shirts I made them. 🥰

We have enjoyed a week together. We have played, done school, had picnics outside,  danced in the rain, baked treats, read books, painted, watched little birds sitting on a nest, watched movies, had tea parties and anything else we wanted to do because we can.

Some times photo shoots gp great, sometimes not. 😁😁😁

Then we just had to make some unicorn cupcakes and rainbow cake. 🌈.  Atleigh decided she wanted to do a video and have her own show so we did. I will upload that video soon. We had a ball.

Our handy man has just been coming every morning and doing little things that he can while we are waiting. The noise bothers on grand daughter so bad that he learned to prepare her for a sudden noise like a hand saw, hammering, or shop vac. That helped her alot. Then one day it was coming a thunderstorm and the noise, thunder and lightning was too much. She ran to me and literally got under my left side and just scrunched as close as she could. Poppie sent her a pic of him and I kid you not, that was all it took to calm her down. She hugged and kissed my phone and held it for a while and then she was a ok. Little stinker.

When all the storms were gone and  noise, it was girls night out.  I took them out to eat and shopping for them some more material for new things for me to make them.

We came out of the restaurant and they were so excited to have their pic made with Gods Promise. Do you see it in the sky?

After we got home from town we got ready for bed and they wanted to watch their video on my phone so...we got in bed late. I let them sleep in and  we had some of Poppies deer jerky he made. And some morning snuggles.

Then daddy and bonus mom came and got them to take them to the zoo for today. They will come back here tonight and spend one more night with me and go to church with me in the morning.  We are suppose to cook out here after church so I'm kind of speed cleaning today since my son just sprung it on me yesterday.

Tomorrow I will be spending time with family. It will be strange here without our youngest but I will manage. This is going to be a hard time for my dear hubby with not having either mom here for Mothers day so I will keep my posts for mother's day to a minimum this year out of respect for him.

Here is the link for our renovation update video.

I hope you all enjoy. Youtube video
