All before 8am. We made homemade biscuits, sausage and sheet pan eggs. All was baked at the same time in the oven. While they were baking we made use of our time and whistled while we worked just like Snow White. We swept, mopped, washed dishes, wiped down countertops and refrigerator. Now we head to the garden and check for tomatoes, okra, peppers and zucchini. 🍅🫑🥒

We have always taught our boys work before play. Well, after work this morning we got to play. Swimming, roasting smores on our little table top fire pit. Then one of those long, summer, lazy, after swim naps that sends you to LaLa land and you wake up wondering what day it is. Atleigh made up a new word. SMORERIFFIC!!!!!!! I agree. Caroline enjoyed just doing her cannonballs.

I love roasting hotdogs and marshmallows but not when there is a heat index outside. So I got this little table top fire pit. Now we can sit and enjoy roasting in the summer ☀️

In today's video I have found another way to make low to no sugar jams and this one is shelf stable so it is water bathed. It also uses Pamona's Pectin. I was so intimidated to try but once I did, I will be doing this from now on. I do not know why it took me so long.

As I celebrated my 25th bday two times around and then some, I reflected on alot of things.
I started my journey in life not knowing exactly what to do and how things worked and how things were suppose to go. But I had wonderful mentors. Now, did I listen to sound advice all the time? No. I hate that, because I really should have.
I have done things I'm not proud of, I have done things I am extremely proud of and I haven't done things that I wish I would have.
I've seen unpleasant things, pleasant things and things I can't unsee, to which I wish I could. I continue to see things I wish would not happen but I guess that goes along with this thing called LIFE.
The thing is, we are all born into this world and set on a journey to find our purpose in life. Now, some find it early in life and some later in life.
It is my prayer that everyone finds their purpose early because waiting too late will be a waste and you want have much time to complete your purpose.
If you have the right person on your side you will go far with blessings on this journey. If you have the wrong person on your side, you will not get very far. So tread with caution and moat of all let God lead and guide you. All you have to do is pray, wait and listen.

I have been on a journey for a long time of trying to find a way to make dear hubby jams and jellies with low to no sugar and by George I believe I found it. This is the easiest process ever and a beginner level. He has ate every jar I made and my momma and daddy love it also. Guess I gotta make more. This is a no cook freezer jam and so stinking easy. We are beginning to gather a few things from the garden. It is a little later this year coming in due to later in the year freezes and frosts. Last year I was canning and Preserving in June.
We will get there though. How is your gardens doing? We got very much needed rain last night thanks to Hurrican Beryle.
All the beautiful colors of Summer. There is nothing like seeing green tomatoes turn red and buds turn into vegetables.
We are in the hottest parts of the summer. Please practice safety and stay cool. Stay hydrated. Work early in the mornings or late in the evenings when the sun is not as strong. Know your limits. Take frequent breaks and sit under the shade. If you are starting to feel dizzy, light headed or nauseous, you have gone past your limit and gotten too hot. Please be careful out there.
I love teaching homemaking skills. I will teach to anyone who wants to learn.
I had the pleasure of teaching our sons to cook and clean so they would know how to do things for themselves when they moved out and on their own in the world. I did not want them to be handicapped and not know how to do some things. Those things have come in handy because they help their wives in their own homes and work as a team. They even know how to sew on a button.
Now, a second generation later, I am getting to teach little Homemakers.
They have been helping me cook and clean since they could walk.
Now I get to add teaching sewing skills to their list.
I have taught them how to sew stitches, sew on buttons and now cutting out patterns, pin them to fabric and then cut out their material.
I let them help me guide the fabric under the sewing machine and get the feel of a machines noise and motion. I finished the harder parts they are not ready for yet. We will get to those steps later.
They were so proud of themselves. And they wore them to bed that night.
All children can learn simple life skills starting in the toddler years. If we do not teach them these skills they will not be able to function properly later in life when they leave home.
Let's get back to being those Titus 2 women in the Bible. The next generations depend on it.
