Hello Friends
As you all know, or maybe you do not know. I am in the middle of a series on my YouTube Channel called, Breadmaking For Beginners. I have literally been playing in dough for months.
When I was younger, I just wanted to learn to make bread the old-fashioned way. I love the smell of freshly baked bread, and I love the verse that Jesus taught us to pray: Give us this day our daily bread.....
I went on a mission and taught myself how to make bread. I did it for a long time. Life got crazy, and I put it on the back burner. A few years ago, I picked it back up. Here is why. First, the pandemic hit, then one day I was plundering through a pantry of mine, and I found an oooollllddd package of bread that had a few pieces remaining. I honestly can't remember when I bought it, that's how old it was. Then I got to thinking and looking at how well preserved it was. You see, fresh bread molds quickly if not used quickly. So....this bread did not have one speck of mold on it. That told me real quick that something was in that bread that should not be. If nothing could kill it, then what was it going to do to my body if I ate it? I threw it away as fast as I could. I knew right then that I needed to pick back up my bread-making skills. I got my recipe book and such out, and here we are. I have not looked back.
I remembered I had so many different ways I could make bread and flours and methods. I started with the simplest and a no knead version. Then I moved up to kneaded. I was having so much fun that I taught my momma because she wanted to make bread also. After teaching her, I decided to start making some videos and recreate the whole scenario I had just gone through. It just gave me even more practice. I am now in the intermediate stage of my series. I started out beginner level and will end with an advanced level. I am researching and learning more new things and will show them as I go.
If you feel like you want to join in on this journey, catch today's video on our channel. I would really recommend starting from the very first video on
my Breamaking For Beginners Playlist here and watch from the very beginning. This way, you will know where we are and what we have already talked about. I wouldn't want you to miss a thing or get behind. Today's video is full of very vital information that you will need to be successful in our bread making journey. Did you know that temperature, humidity and the time of year effects baking bread? Yes. We will cover all that.
In my list, we start out with some simple southern staples like Quick Dinner Rolls, Biscuits, and Cornbread. Then we use a bread machine. Next, we start out with a 5 Minute No Knead Bread Dough or Quick Refrigerator Dough. This dough is nutritious because it mimics sourdough which is a fermented bread that is very beneficial to gut health. We go over all the many things you can do with this dough and even make a pizza. So if you don't start from the beginning, you might get a little lost. Grab some popcorn and a beverage and let's get started shall we?
