New Videos and Relaxing

Well, I have been relaxing and enjoying the view out here everyday. I have discovered that deer eat peoples plants down to a nub out here as well as back home so I don't feel so bad. 😕 😉🤣

I have been pampering myself too.

If you don't have a Gel Dip Powder kit in your life, you need one. This is only my second time lots of trail and error, but each time has lasted me 3 weeks or 3 1/2 weeks each. I paired two kits together. $28 and $18 off of Amazon and it will last me over a year. Each kit will give over 25 manicures. The big one with all the colors will give well over 50 manicures. Figure the math versus one manicure.

Here is another I paired with it

Every morning me and dear hubby enjoy our coffee outside under the porch. It is very nice. We are getting ideas for us one. It is great listening to the pouring down rain sometimes too which happened a few mornings.

I have also worked hard the past week getting two new videos up on our channel. I've had so many people waiting on these.

This video is packed full of information on how we preserve alot of our food. I give quick start tips to Canning, Water Bathing, and freezing. I explain the pros and cons of Canning versus freezing and how to know which one you want to use. This is the first video of a series to my Canning videos that I've had so many requests for and people waiting on. Click on the pic to watch.

Also this one:

This is how I can our potatoes and I love them. They are easy to do even if you are a beginner and want to learn to start Canning. You don't always have to grow a garden to preserve food. Check out our latest video by clicking on the pic.

I hope you enjoy them and can use the info and maybe try your hand at beginning to can your own food. More videos to come but I'm going to take the next few days to relax and rest.

Grandparents Day

Today is Grandparents Day so I dedicate this post to my grandparents Bennie and Dorothy Oliver. I would love to sit down and talk and visit with them again. They raised three kids of their own that love the Lord and raised families of their own to love the Lord too. I spent so many years practically living with them when I could. They helped mold and shape my life and I always knew I wanted to be just like my grandmother. My momma says I am just that. I cherish the years of watching and hearing my PaPa preach behind the pulpit while my MaMa sat proudly watching him too with her eyes just shining. They loved each other til death did they part. I miss them very much and will see them again someday.

I celebration of Grandparents Day Today, we are so thankful to be Poppie and Gmaw to these two and more to come in the future. There is nothing like a bond between grand child and Grandparent and we have such bonds that can't be broken. There is nothing we want do for them.

New Destination

Well, we reached our next destination for a little while. It took us 2 days to get here. I can't travel that far in one day and dear hubby took it easy on me so we broke it up in two days. The scenery was awesome. We went past the Smoky Mountains which is one of my favorite places since childhood.

The day we arrived, we were so exhausted and still had to unload our vehicles. We went to bed that night and just passed out.

The next day, I got our house set up and just walked around looking.

Let's just say I'm in love.

I have so many places to relax and enjoy, I don't know where to start first.

Ya'll had y'alls fun all summer and Ya'll just go on back to school tomorrow. Now it's my time to shine . 🌈🌞🏝🏖🏊‍♀️

Nothing like a fresh pedicure on the pier.

Got work to do,but at least I have a good view. 👍

When you don't drink, You can work at a tiki bar too. Got new videos coming up that people have waited on forever. 😏

I am working very hard on getting my canning and Preserving videos edited to upload to our channel.  I have so many subscribers waiting for these.

I am trying to vacation and get a little work done too. ✔️

Today was my Momma and Daddys 37th wedding anniversary.

When it's partly cloudy outside, you just utilize the jacuzzi. ☺️

Dear hubby was off for a few days so we just enjoyed or time.

Morning coffee outside

We had a date day and went to Richmond and ate and shopped a little.

The next day, we cooked out and watched football all day.

I missed my AL team playing because we couldn't figure out how to stream it on this TV but we figured it out later and watched our second team TN. Yes, I am the Roll Tide fan and my guys are TN. I'm outnumbered.

The next day we were lazy again.

It turned out to be a great week.

I am working on several videos to get uploaded to our channel. Stay tuned.

Recipe and Tying Up Loose Ends

Well, we have had a great month of August but dear hubby has got to go to work again. 😢.  It seems like we just got home. We knew we had a month to spend with family,  and work on our kitchen. It went by way too fast. We have our kitchen unpacked and set back right and organized except two pantry cabinets still left to get. I can shift things around later when we get those. We've got most all our doors changed out and up. Little things like finishing trim, one more door and applying all handles and knobs on cabinets and drawers can wait until later. It is looking so good and I couldn't be more proud of my husband for his accomplishments and hard work. Also our handy man.

I would like to share a good meal with you too. I was so proud of this meal and it was so economical and cost friendly.

I used alot of things I had on hand and left over.

First, I had some left over egg roll wraps that I wanted to make spring rolls or egg rolls with. I used a jar of my home canned saurkraut from a few years back. It did not get as sour as I had liked when I canned it,  so I knew it would work perfect for these. I toned it down a little more with some sesame oil and soy sauce. I sauted it and threw in some shredded Zucchini we grew a few years ago and I had in the freezer.

I wrapped them up, spritzed with olive oil and air fried. You can deep fry them if you'd like but I needed my deep fryer for our chicken.

Next came the chicken. I was out of chicken breasts which is what I usually use so I improvised and pulled out some thighs that we bought in bulk on sale and repackaged into smaller portions and vacuum sealed. I made my own sauce with some sugar free sauces that dear hubby could enjoy. I deep fried them just a little to get that crispy battered coating. Then I transferred them to the airfryer where I basted the sauce on and finished cooking.

Then came the cauliflower fried rice. Now, here is where it got price tricky. Normally, I buy a head of cauliflower and cut and mince it up. But they were $2.74 a head. So I went to the freezer section and the rice cauliflower in a bag was $2.24. Just two rows over was a bag of cauliflower florets for $1.00 so I snatched that and moved on. Be sure to compare prices on the different ways you can purchase and prepare things. That was a perfect example. Now, I take that bag and mince it up more to get my "rice" effect. It is healthier for dear hubby because he can't eat rice. I sautéed it in some sesame oil and soy sauce and added fresh frozen peas that was in my freezer and I know I only paid $1.00 for that bag too a while back.

Then came our Ginger Salads. We always get one with our meals when we go get Chinese food. I usually make my own ginger dressing but this time I splurged and just got a bottle of dressing. I probably want do that again. We didn't care as much but it was ok. I will make a batch next time and have on hand. I get the recipes off Pinterest.  The bottle will do in a pinch.

Last is the vegetable stir fry. 😋 I grabbed a bag of vegetables from the freezer section also that was $1.00. Sautéed that in some stir fry sauce I had on hand. And there you go. This meal was less than $11 to make considering I had alot on hand but I averaged the meal cost of those items in too.

I wish I would have videod this and put on my channel but we had been working all day and was so exhausted I just didn't feel good. 😪  I barely made it to the end of the meal because my feet and legs were killing me. 😩

I hope yall enjoyed this recipe and try it out. 😋

A Week In The Life

This is a week in the life of Gmaw and Poppie. It has been busy.

First, we started the week celebrating Caroline's 4th birthday.

The next day it was Monday and a school day. So here we go.

We are not the after party. We are the "Before School Party" 🥳🥳🥳 Chaffles, honey bun, yogurt and applesauce for breakfast. And we said a prayer over Atleigh on our way to school.

Me and Caroline got back home and she wanted to paint and do school. Then it was time for lunch.

Why, yes I can have a Nutella and Peanut butter, dinosaur sandwich if I want to. 😋

Then it was naptime

50 naptime stories to some of her stuffed animals. ❤️❤️

After nap, we got outside while it was cooler and let her jump on her trampoline we got her for her birthday.

Then it was time for Daddy to pick her up.

The next day we got Sissy to school and we came home and did the same thing.

Just a girl and her Poppie. Her Prince didn't want her little Princesses feet to get wet in the morning dew.

We got ready for the day. She got a cookie decorating kit as a bday gift and she chose Gmaw to do it with.

Shhhhh......Baker Caroline is at work.

Same naptime routine. 50 stories to the stuffed animals.......

After nap we go look for Poppie who is on the tractor and we take him some water and he takes her for a ride because he is exhausted.

This time we had to go to their house and help put an air conditioner in their house. Of course when it was time to go, big Sissy cried because she did not want me to go because she had not got to see me all day.

Well, this morning didn't go so smooth.

Warning, sensitive content.

Yep. Little sissy got sick about 4 or 5 times and it was almost  a chain reaction.  I had to roll the windows down a little. I was on a two lane hwy and no where to pull over. The good thing is, we were almost to Sissys school. We pulled in the parking lot and I quickly got Sissy inside. I opened the door and had to clean little sissy up as best as I could and we had to borrow big sissys carseat until we got home.

I asked Poppie to meet me in the driveway and he came out and got her and took her inside. I quickly got the carseats out and just set them out on the ground.  I went inside to give Caroline a bath and change her clothes. Poppie got her settled down while I went out and washed carseats and cleaned my truck up. I saw this hack from another mom and I tried it.  You can wash your carseats with the pads still on. Just make sure to hose down real good and let sun dry. Also, make sure metal clips are dry too to prevent rusting.

I got back inside and had to take a shower myself after that.
Well, this is what you do when they are sick and don't like sudden loud noises but you still have handyman here to install wooden shelves. I made her comfortable,  had an emergency puke bucket and headphones to drown out the noise. And she was playing some educational games on her tablet.

It was time for nap and we layed down.

As the day progressed, she began to feel a little better.

The next day, same routine. Got Sissy to school and we came back home and just read books, played games, etc. I didn't get alot of pics on this day.

Next day, same routine. Got big sissy to school. We came home and she started playing with some little goats that we have had for years, so I got a bright idea. I found some old dvds that I had of my goats that I raised years ago before some physical set backs. (My story is on our Goat pages in the subheader.) I got them out and we watched them. Well, Caroline is getting very educated today. We have watched some videos of me taking care of my goats I use to raise. Oh yes, she has watched one give birth and oh the questions. 😁😁 Teach these country girls.

Daddy has came and got her each day. I didn't get to see big sissy again each day because by the time everyone got off work and picked everyone up, it was time to get everyone home and start nighttime routine. This is a whole new season in all our lives. Everyone is having to adjust and find a routine that works for them and make adjustments accordingly.

Uncle Dallas and Brlee came by to visit.

The last day of school and same thing. Off to school and each morning they have had breakfast in the truck and relaxed and watched TV in the truck. At least I know she gets a good start to her day and a full belly. 😌 Caroline and I come back and Poppie is already on the tractor trying to finish up bush hogging. We get on the Ranger and go to the ridge and find him and take him water.

I think little sissy has enjoyed having Poppie and Gmaw all to herself.

We have read books, played with toys and playdoh, rode the tractor and Ranger, cooked, baked, and just basically anything she wanted to do. Whoever said playing with playdoh wasn't fun....lied.

After big sissy got out of school, they brought her to our house so they could spend the weekend with us and we could have some time with them.  We ate and had some treats. Then we got ready for bed and I popped us some popcorn and watched a movie. At bedtime I gave them something special.

Good investment. Lullaby singing, night light puppies. Sweet dreams little buddies.

Saturday morning:

Girls on breakfast duty. Caroline did a good job scrambling eggs and flipping the sausage. Atleigh just wanted to watch Tom and Jerry with her Poppie. Bible songs and stories on the tablets.

I think this morning is just a day of relaxing and winding down from the school week. After that big breakfast,  we are all ready for a nap now. Later this evening family is coming to visit.

Not bad on their outfits considering I didn't have them there for them to try on while sewing.

Family time and a little skeet shoot competition.

Sunday:

Two beautiful Princesses 👸

I don't know wether to be proud or sad.......Caroline went to Children's Church for the first time this morning. I missed my leeches. 💒❤️❤️👑👑

I am honestly in awe of this picture. You see, the pic she is holding is of people she has never met, although I'd give anything if she could have. She grabs this pic all the time and hugs it and kisses it and tells everyone that this is her Great Great Grandpa and her Great Great Gramdma. She has a connection and I can't explain it. If she only knew.

Today's  goodbye was sad for us because it was time for them to go to mommy's for next week.

They didn't want to leave and we didn't want to see them go.

This is how our weeks go sometimes.
