Perfect Ending To A Week

 We had the best ending to a perfect week. I had the best week with our granddaughters and we had the perfect ending. 

We celebrated our 4th of July Saturday because so many will still have to work on the 4th. When you're in the medical field, you don't get off. 

Dear hubby gave me a break since I had been so busy all week. He took care of everything this year. Food, desserts, fireworks, etc. He is awesome. The thing is, God showed up and showed out again. The weather was calling for 90% chance of rain. So I prayed for him to hold off the rain just so we could have this last night of fun before the week was up. And he did. 

Mine and the girls tye dye shirts turned out great. Next time I will make sure I have more dye for adults tshirts. It takes more. However, I wanted to get theirs done first so I got what was left out of the red. They turned out cute. 

A good time was had by all. 

After it was over, father and sons had to have their own little war. It is something they have done every year since our boys were younger. 

Sunday evening dear hubby and I got out and picked in the garden. We gave 4, 5 gallon buckets of squash and Zucchini to two of our neighbors. 

We picked a 5 gallon bucket of corn that was ready, and a 5 gallon bucket of green beans that was ready. First green beans and corn of 2023. 

I literally sat in my garden and cried because the last person to grow green beans in our family was my late MIL.  Now, two little girls not only filled this bucket, but filled her shoes. This is their green beans they planted back in the spring. I am beyond proud. 

We sat last night snapping beans and watching a classic Bob Hope movie.  

Today, I'm processing them. I will be videoing so I can add it to our playlist on YouTube.  I will also do a written tutorial.

This Is Essential In My Home

 I don't know about you, but I am getting older and needing to find things that make homemaking a little easier on my back and Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Dear hubby is always listening too, so a few years ago he bought me this for my birthday.  I wanted one for a long time. 

This has been a life changer. It is a Bissell Crosswave. This little thing vacuums and mops at the same time.  This cuts cleaning my floors time in half. It is great for deep cleans and spot cleans after meals. It also spot cleans carperts and rugs. 

It is easy to use, not heavy and easy to clean when done. I even make my own cleaner to use now in the tank.

Storms and Summer Fun

 I know that title sounds a little strange but along with summer fun comes summer storms. ☀️ 

Storms came through our region the other night and our son got called out and has been out for two days. They joined up with another Electiric Cooperative and restored power in that region. 

Our counties help each other out. This is not all of them. This is just one crew on one area. We were fortunate to be able to spot him. 

This meant he was not going to be home for a few days and when the girls were asked where they wanted to stay,  of course you know where they said. POPPIE AND GMAWS.  ❤️❤️❤️💙 

So we have made the best of it. 

We have played and played and worked some too. They know that we have to get our work done before we can play and they get rewarded. 

Diving sticks and rings are a necessity in our pool. I can remember when our boys were little, that was their favorite thing to do in the pool. Well, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. 

I had been waiting on this little booger to come from Amazon. A table top grill. This little thing works good. Perfect for kids and me too. These things are yummy 😋

We are going to have fun with this. It can even be used inside because it is odorless and smokeless. You can get yours here

We have been walking through the garden every day and checking. We will have green beans soon and corn. I am so excited. 

First time ever tye dying shirts. I guess this is why they say wear gloves. Just call me Smurfette.

Sometimes you just eat what they eat. But I tell yall what, those Zucchini pickles are a hit. We have gone through a jar and a half already.

How To Can Coleslaw

 You can can Cole slaw. I swear, no pun intended. I have canned coleslaw, fermented saurkraut and nonfermented saurkraut and used them in so many recipes.
