Welcome to today's post.
Sorry I have been absent but the month of May kept us pretty busy.
Dear Hubby was finishing up a job while I came home for a granddaughters Kindergarten graduation.
Mothers Day Banquet with my momma and two sisters
Then our kids took me out to lunch on Mothers Day after church
New calves on the farm. Dear Hubby missed the first few but got to see the rest
Me, Poppie and the girls worked together and got the garden planted
Then it rained for a solid two weeks and drowned some things. We had to replant some corn and green beans and had to purchase some tomato and pepper plants.
I was upset at first until I came to the realization that every year is not going to be perfect and you just accept, adapt and overcome. After the replanting, things are looking much better. 👌
And so summer fun begins. Today I let them loose in the kitchen (with hardly no assistance) and I let them get creative. We wanted to make a rainbow cake but Caroline said it had to be sugar free so Poppie could have some, so we obliged. I let them practice with my cake decorating piping bags and tips. Every time you slice into it, you get a different color. Then they leaned how to use fresh herbs 🌿
Both were delicious 😋
We have built forts and played with playdoh and kinetic sand
I am teaching them to make their own lunches and make good choices. I don't mind Nutella but they know they are to put something good with it, like a fruit, a vegetable and something else.
We have cleaned and done chores while listening to Bible songs
We had an all girls day out with my Daughters in law and one of their moms amd we went to the theater to see King of Kings 🤴
We got to go spend our chore money one day
And then we've been resting too
We are getting ready to set our pool up and have pool parties and smores
More fencing needs to be done and we are knocking out some other projects before we start harvesting from the garden and Preserving all our hard work.
You can see our latest garden videos here
This is always our busiest time of the year but we try to keep our head above water and have fun also.
Until next time
