Homemade Personal Pan Pizza In An Airfryer

Good morning, dear friends. Welcome to today's blog post. If you are visiting for the first time, thanks for dropping in. Hang around for a bit, I'm sure you might find more that you like. I want my blog to be a place where you can find encouragement and inspiration to test your skills and information to help you learn all that you are interested in, all that you are seeking knowledge about. As I get older, I love challenges. If something catches my eye or fills my mind, I do whatever I can to research and learn that thing that so intrigues me.  If you linger on my blog, be sure to visit my home page and check out the titles in the subheader. They are links to pages concerning those topics. They open up a whole new world for you to enjoy and glean from.

I truly hope you find everything you are looking for. Be sure to sign up for my email list (pop-up box) to be notified of all new blog posts published. We would love to have you.

Today's post is another one of those things that I felt a challenge coming on. Dear Hubby and I are on a work trip, and we are staying in a hotel. This means my meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking are different than when I am home. We still like to enjoy a lot of our family favorites as a meal, even when we are traveling. We do not eat out for every meal while away from home. For one, it costs too much. For two, we have to watch what we eat for our health.

I still have to remember these habits when away from home as well. That is why I have taught myself to still cook and bake from scratch while on work trips. This can be challenging since all I have are a microwave, an air fryer, an instant pot, and an electric skillet in a "kitchen box" that we travel with. I also bring along a fold-up table just in case we need it, because not every hotel has a kitchenette in them, even though they are labeled "suite". Some kitchenettes consist of a small dorm room refrigerator, a small sink, and a small cabinet if you're lucky. I have to make more room for my "make-shift kitchen" and get very creative with my meals. I have to consider downsizing meal portions. That consists of shopping for smaller items and halfing recipes sometimes.

Hence, a challenge. But, hey, I'm up for it.

Just like this meal. We love homemade pizzas. I took a family favorite and made a smaller version, homemade, from scratch.

I have a small recipe book that I have in my kitchen box, and some saved recipes on my tablet.

I whipped up my homemade pizza dough (you can use any pizza dough recipe you have or find one on the World Wide Web. My recipe makes one pizza dough, but I halved the dough and made two personal pan-sized crusts. I rolled them out to the size I needed on parchment paper and baked it on the paper as well. It makes this process so much easier.

Added my pizza sauce:

Added cheese and toppings:

Set up my air fryer:

I then very carefully picked up my parchment paper with the pizza and placed it into my air fryer basket.

At this point, I have to test my recipes for air fryer times and temperature. That is still a learning curve. But I am getting there. Most airfryers suggest cutting the temperature down at least by 25 degrees and cutting back your time for recipes.

And here is the final result.

Do these not look delicious? Served with a small side salad.

Trust me when I say they came out with crispy bottoms that provided that tasty crunch, and the toppings and cheese were melted to perfection.

This meal and many others are achievable in a hotel with small appliances.

Cooking like this is not just for me on work trips. College kids can benefit from cooking in their dorm rooms as well. Eating fast food all the time can get expensive and not be very nutritious for their ever growing minds. Even if a college student did not learn from mom or dad at home to cook, they can start now and I can help.

Not only can college students learn to do this, but anyone who will be traveling and staying in a hotel, air bnb, condomenium, RV, tent, cabin or any small space you will be renting for a short time.

Spring Break is approaching and many will be going on trips. You could save a lot of money by bringing a few small appliances, a folding table, and maybe a cooler with some easy fix groceries that can be cooked instead of spending tons of money on eating out every meal while on vacation.

Even truck drivers over the road have learne to cook small nutritious meals with a few small, traveable applianes in their big rigs. Where there is a will, there is a way to save money.

I can show you how to cook from scratch, nuttritious meals by using these few small appliances in a small space while away from home.

On my YouTube Channel I have a whole Playlist dedicted to cooking in small appliances while traveling. If you want to save money or just learn how to use these appliances that you have never used before, you can check out my channel and my 4D Farms Hotel/Travel/Small Space Cooking Playlist

There are recipes making simple meals, and some challenging meals (whole chicken in an airfryer), using nothing but a microwave, air fryer, instant pot and electric skillet. There are breakfast ideas as well to save even more money.

Be sure to check out that playlist for those recipes and ideas. But for today, you can learn all about these personal pan pizzas in this video below:
