I Can't Take It Anymore How To Get Rid Of A Nagging Cough

Welcome Friends. I hope you find today's post very helpful and informative.

Before we left home to go on our work trip, I had gotten really sick. Despite my best efforts with all my natural remedies, it just would not go away and had gotten worse. I must have waited too long before using some of my natural remedy protocols, and it got away from me. It started with me having a night swim back in the summer with my grandkids and coming in late with a wet head and going straight to bed under a fan and air conditioner. (Menopause thing)
I woke up the next morning with an excruciating sore throat. I knew instantly what I had done. I got rid of the sore throat, but over time, I developed a cough. Then on came a stuffy nose. I don't just jump up and start remedies because I try to allow my body a little time to adjust and maybe fight it off naturally. But little by little, more things just kept coming. The cough was getting worse, and the stuffy nose was driving me crazy. I then started some natural remedies protocol I have in place. They were bringing me some relief, but not going away, just lingering and worsening. I also started developing ear pain.
Finally, it hit me hard. I went to bed one night shivering and had the chills. I knew it was going to get worse then. I know how my body does sometimes. It pays to know your body, too.
I started running a fever the next day and had no appetite. The cough was worsening, and I could feel heaviness in my chest. Dear hubby was trying to keep me hydrated and something on my belly. All I could tolerate or keep down was soup, Jell-O, and Powerade. Sometimes, the soup would come back up, and I was down to just Jell-O and Powerade. All I was doing was coughing and losing sleep.

Not only was I miserable and losing sleep, but dear hubby was losing sleep as well. One of us would go to the couch and try to sleep, but no matter where we were (separated in other rooms), he could not escape my coughing. My fever was worrying him more than anything. This went on for about a week and a half. (stubborn me) Finally, he broke and said, "I am taking you to the doctor!"

I tried everything I could, but sometimes, despite our knowledge and best efforts, you just need to get help. And he was getting me help. I reached the doctor's office, and she promptly asked me what I had tried. You see, she knows me, and she is also studying holistic and natural remedies. She has no problem with them. She examined me and saw immediately what was wrong. I had developed a sinus infection that was spreading down into my chest and ear. It was bad. That's the reason it wasn't going anywhere, and I had let it go too long before starting to treat it myself. If I had started my protocol before, I believe it would not have worsened. Anyway, it is what it is, I guess. She knew how miserable I was, and I had a coughing spell while she was in there. Needless to say, I received a shot, heavy antibiotics, and a strong cough syrup. I am very thankful for her and her knowledge and willingness to work with me. She said everything I had done was great, and it was the first thing she would have grabbed, but it hit me hard this time. I will never wait that long again to get a protocol in place. I got better quickly, although the cough still lingered longer than I wanted it to hang around. was well enough to travel to make it to dear hubby's job. He let me sleep for a few days to help my body recover.

I could still feel heaviness in my chest, and like something was still just stuck in there. The coughing spells had somewhat subsided, but not completely gone. We could at least get sleep at night. But it kept nagging me. I wanted ALL OF IT OUT, not just some.

Then I remembered something that one of my daughters-in-law does when she gets really sick. She is a dental hygienist, and she can't miss work. So I called her and got a recommendation. She uses a Nebulizer with some Vicks Liquid VapoRub. I quickly found one on Amazon and had it delivered to where we were. I have this now in my Amazon Store, and you can get it here

I love all the qualities of this little thing. It is small and compact, so it packs very well for traveling. Which is great, seeing that we are on a work trip. It comes with two different-sized nose guards. One for adults and one for children. Yes, children can use this as well. It also comes with a mouth guard, a charging cord, since it is USB charged, and a soft, draw-string bag. It is easy to cut on, cut off.

Although it does come with a draw-string bag, I still ordered a heavy, strong case so it does not get damaged in a suitcase or such. Everything fits very well. You can find the case here. It is compact as well.

This Nebulizer helped me so much. I used it for 20 minutes every day until everything was clear and I had relief. I spaced the 20 minutes out into intervals.
