Organization Tips and Tricks

I have had several people want to know about the cubby hole zone that I worked on in our grandkids room when I did a make over.

I love the way this turned out. 😍 Bought two 6 cube organizers from Walmart and bought 12 cloth cubby organizers from Dollar Tree. Check out your local Walmart or you can order online. They have different sizes. You can also order the cloth cubby hole organizers online from Dollar Tree which you can find here

My grandkids were so happy and it works so well when they just want to get one thing out and take it to another room. Easy clean up too. Just put those things back into the cloth cubby and carry back to the room and put into the shelves.

If you struggle with kids dragging everything out and then they get overwhelmed when it is time to clean up, teach them organized play.
What prompted me to learn this was one night we had another couple over to visit and they had a baby too that was 9 months older than our oldest son. They got really quiet in that room and we went to inspect. We were so shocked when we walked up on what we saw and just about wanted to cry. The whole room was array. EVERY toy was out and it looked like we took every toy in the room, put them into a big mixing bowl and stirred them around. Books were strowed under all the toys, hot wheels cars were all mixed into his little ball pit. It was a disaster. We got the dads to watch the kids and me and her went to  work slowly but surely organizing this room again. Bless her heart, she was not going to leave me with that mess. After what seemed an eternity, we were finished. I promised that would never happen again. It didn't. I carried it into the arrival of our next son when he got older and now the next generation with our grands.
This is organized play. Group like toys into groups. Put into tubs, toy boxes, containers, shelves, etc.
When the child gets one thing out and plays with it and is finished, teach them to clean that up and put away before they are allowed to get the  next thing out to play with. THIS WAS THE ICING ON MY CAKE.  It worked so much better. Now it may take a little one a while to catch on to this, just monitor their play and try to catch it before it gets out of hand. You're welcome.
